a learning utterance is a place hosting writings and newsletters by Shen Xin. The publishing is timed with intentions, without a defined frequency. They write with an aspiration to reconstruct languages of inter-connectivity from states of dispossession. This practice also lends itself to a process of returning to sites of creation, from what alienates art and living.

About Shen Xin
Working with moving image, installation, sound, text, painting, and performance, Shen Xin is an artist and filmmaker who practices co-creating languages rooted in epistemic relationships manifested from the land. An advocate for the potential of innate belonging, they tell stories that reconstruct its terms against territories of nation states. Claiming boundaries in politics of recognition as kindred capacities, they speak the grammar of sense, volition, technique, and spaciousness through abiding knowing in relations. They were born in Chengdu, Sichuan, and finds home in Northern An t-eilean Sgitheanach (Isle of Skye) and Mni Sota Makoce.
